There are an endless variety of bookcases that one can choose from. Even though there was little need for bookcases before the invention of the printing press, you will find more than one in most homes today.
One of the more compelling types of bookcases to be found is the barrister bookcase. These units have a few features that set them apart and make them favorites of book-lovers everywhere. Bookcase Corner Unit
Originally coming into use in the 1800's, these book cases found favor with lawyers and officials who had libraries of books that found frequent use, and needed a way to keep them safe when not in use.
Barrister bookcases are freestanding, and come in different heights, but generally you will find them to be three to five shelves in height.
